Your trust, in writing
Last updated July 2026
Yodil exists to hold your family’s most personal memories. That only works if you can trust us completely, so this policy is written in plain English and describes what we actually do — nothing more.
Your account details (email address, name, password), and the content you choose to add: memories, photos, videos, voice recordings, documents, biography chapters, family relationships, and locations you attach to memories. We collect nothing you don’t deliberately put into your archive.
Your account and archive data are stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and your files — photos, videos, recordings and documents — are stored with Cloudflare R2. Both are established infrastructure providers with their own security practices. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
Only you, and the people you explicitly invite and connect with — and even then, only the memories whose sharing settings you set. There is no public feed, no discovery, and no advertising. Yodil staff do not browse your content; access to production data is limited to what’s technically necessary to run and support the service.
If you use the optional AI writing tools (tidy, polish, suggestions, prompts), the text you submit for that request is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate the result. It is used to serve your request, not to train models. If you never tap an AI feature, nothing is ever sent.
We will never sell your data, show you advertising, or use your family’s memories for anything other than showing them back to you and the people you chose. Your archive is a legacy, not an asset for us to monetise.
You can delete individual memories, photos, and people at any time from within Yodil. If you want your whole account and archive erased, contact us and we’ll do it — completely, including stored files.
Yodil is built and operated in Australia and we aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have a question or concern about your data, contact us and a human will reply.
